Le lundi de Pâques (5.3.2010) Karisko à participé à la manifestation culinaire, sportive et culturelle, LE CRABE D’OR qui se déroulait cette année à la plage de La Richer de Sainte-Marie. Le concours du Crabe d’Or, organisé chaque année par RFO, existe déjà depuis presque 32 ans.
Au programme était le traditionnel concours du meilleur matoutou 2010, le tournoi de football et d’autres animations dont les jeux Banaré.
Karisko organisait les Jeux Banaré de 10 à 13h pour environ 40 personnes dont le plus jeune n’avait que 5 ans. Une dizaine de participants de KARISKO-INSERT et trois étudiants Erasmus (dont deux allemands et un roumain) participaient à l’organisation des jeux.
L’anthropologue Thierry L’Etang était interviewé en direct par RFO Radio sur la tradition martiniquaise de pâques. Il a expliqué qu’ il existait pour les amérindiens une constellation « cirique », qui apparaissait au ciel vers Pâques et qui marquait le début de l’année. A cette même période, on remarquait aussi une abondance de crabes. Alors peut-être que la tradition de manger des crabes à Pâques vient de nos ancêtres amérindiens …
Les premiers jeux Banaré ont été expérimentés à Sainte-Marie de novembre 2006 à janvier 2007 en partenariat avec la ville et DJS (Direction de la Jeunesse et Sports).
English version: Karisko participated last Easter Monday (5.3.2010) to a culinary, sportive and cultural manifestation called LE CRABE D’OR that took place this year at the beach of Richer in Sainte-Anne. On the program was the traditional competition for the best “matoutou”, a football tournament and other animations like the Banaré Games. The games were held from 10 to 13 h for about 40 persons, the youngest participant being 5 years old. About 10 persons of the KARISKO-INSERT workshop participated to the organization of the games with three Erasmus students (two German and a Romanian).
Anthropologist Thierry L’Etang was interviewed live by RFO Radio about the martiniquan easter traditions. According to him the Amerindians had a constellation called “cirique ”, a species of crab, that marked the beginning of the year and was visible around easter. There were also a lot of crabs at this time of the year. So maybe the the tradition of eating crabs on Easter comes all the way from our Amerindian ancestors.
The first Banaré Games were experimented in Sainte –Anne from November 2006 to January 2007 in partnership with the town and DJS (Diréction Jeunesse et Sports).
